Uros:
The tourist activity in Puno-Uros consists of a boat trip on Lake Titicaca until reaching the floating islands of the Uros, where you can appreciate their unique way of life, living in houses built on islands made of totora reeds. Visitors can enjoy a totora reed boat ride and experience the culture and traditions of the Uros. Then, you can continue the trip to Taquile Island, known for its high quality textiles and beautiful panoramic views of the lake.
Virgin of Candelaria:
The Feast of the Virgin of Candelaria is a religious and cultural celebration that takes place in Puno every February. It is one of the largest and most colorful celebrations in Latin America. Visitors can enjoy colorful parades, music and dance, as well as participate in religious ceremonies in honor of the Virgin of Candelaria. The festival is an exciting and unique celebration that attracts thousands of visitors from around the world each year.

DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 1: UROS ISLAND – TAQUILE FULL DAY TOUR
Pick up from the airport or bus station and transfer to the hotel in Puno to leave our things.
We will meet at the hotel from 6:40 a.m. to go to the lake port of Puno, to board a motor boat where we will travel to the floating island of the Uros where you will visit for a time of 45 minutes.
Our guide will be waiting for us at the departure point where he will give us a brief explanation about the life of the inhabitants of these islands.
The Uros are a very old native community, formed by more than 40 islands, which are built with totora reeds by their own inhabitants, the same are used for the construction of their homes, boats (rafts), fuel and as food for human consumption. In this excursion we visit the main island and travel around 2 or 3 islands for 30 minutes each (with the option of doing the tour in the typical Totora boats).
Then continue traveling to the island of Taquile to arrive have a 1 hour walk to get to the village.
In Taquile we will spend 3 hours visiting the place observing the landscape and customs, we will have lunch in a local restaurant where we will have a typical lunch. We will have free time to explore the island and meet its inhabitants who will show us their way of life through their textiles.
Return to Puno 2.30 p.m. Arrival in Puno 5.00 p.m. Upon arrival at the port, transfer to the hotel.

DAY 02: FEAST OF THE CANDELARIA
05.30 hrs It is the central day of the Festival. At dawn the groups visit the cemeteries to salute the deceased members.
07.30 – 07.45 hrs We will pick you up at your hotel to go through the streets full of dancers to the Stadium where the Puno dance contest will take place.
08.00 hrs Parallel to this, the Enrique Torres Belon Stadium in the city of Puno, is the scene of the LVI Great Contest of Autochthonous Dances, every year this contest attracts many tourists from around the world, who are amazed to see the enormous native wealth that Puno has. The wifalas, the chacareros and carnivals are the ones that get the applause.
10.00 a.m. A community mass is held by the Parish Priest of the Sanctuary, the devotees pay homage to the Virgen Morena. Afterwards, the procession is carried out through the streets of the city, and after the procession the “alferados” are changed. The parishioners accompany the image of the Virgen de la Candelaria on its route, carrying candles and accompanied by a band of musicians.
At the end of the procession, the groups go out towards the Sanctuary of the Virgin to greet the Mamita Candelaria.
