Cusco is an amazing city located in the Andean region of Peru and is known for being the ancient capital of the Inca Empire. Cusco has a rich history and culture, and its Spanish colonial architecture blends with the remains of Inca architecture.
It is also the gateway to the world famous Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, which is one of the main tourist attractions in South America.

Day 1: Walking Tour 3400 – 3500 meters
- Pick up from Airport or Terminal

Day 2: Lagoon of Humantay 4200 meters

- Hike for 1 hour and 30 minutes approx.

- At 8:00 am pick up at your hotel.

DETAILED ITINERARY
DAY 01: PICK UP FROM AIRPORT – WALKING TOUR IN CUSCO
The tour begins with the pick up from your hotel and then we will go in our mobility to the neighborhood of San Cristobal (Qolqampata), located in the upper part of the city to have a panoramic view of the city.
Continuing with our tour we will arrive to the Qantupata neighborhood where we will enter the street of 7 borreguitos, one of the most beautiful streets and visited by tourists where we will have some time in the huaca sapantiana (Inca shrine) and then visit the colonial aqueduct of this Huaca, we will also have a stop at the colonial bridge of Choquechaqa to share a little of the history of the place we continue with the walk and arrive at the neighborhood of San Blas exactly to the Tandapata street.
This neighborhood is also known as the “Barrio de los Artesanos“, which is characterized by its narrow and long streets, and what to say of its striking and rustic colonial houses, its small squares, its staircases and the most attractive of this tour is that the entire road and the walls are made of stone, we continue making the journey to the street 7 diablitos, 7 angelitos to reach the beautiful viewpoint of San Blas, where we will have another beautiful view and a time to enjoy this great place.
To continue with this fascinating experience we will know another important point known as the route of the Qapaqñan (the network of roads of the Inca), then descend to the main square of the neighborhood, enjoy its water fountains.
Then we head to the street of “Hatun Rumiyoc” to visit the stone of the 12 angles, we will have some time to dress up with a typical costume of the area.
Finally we will arrive to the main square of the city, surrounded by the imposing and beautiful colonial temples where we will have time for photos and explanation about the place.

DAY 02: HUMANTAY LAGOON
The tour to the Humantay Lagoon begins at 4:30 am with the pick up from your hotel, we head to the town of Mollepata (2 hours approx).
In the district of Molletapa we will make a stop to enjoy a nutritious breakfast, we will have some free time to use the restrooms, make purchases of hydrating drinks and snacks. Then we will advance to Soraypampa, which is the starting point for the hike to the Humantay Lagoon.
Arrival to Soraypampa at 09:00 hrs approx, we will have a panoramic view of the snow-capped mountains of Salkantay and Humantay.
At the starting point of the hike we will have a brief description of our hike, recommendations from our guide. The hike has a duration of 1 hour and a half approx. Once finished the ascent we will arrive at the magical lagoon, impressive for its turquoise color located at the foot of the snowy Humantay, it is there where we will have a detailed explanation of the place and of course free time for photographs.
It is known according to local tradition that the Apu Humantay, is the youngest son of the Apu Salkantay. And both are in charge of rationalizing and distributing the water that descends from its eternal snows to the many populations that live in its foothills. For this reason, the local population venerates this lagoon as a deity that represents the Pachamama.
In the surroundings you will observe innumerable apachetas (stones superimposed one on top of the other that are placed in the sacred sites) that have been placed as offerings of gratitude to the Pachamama.
At 12:00 hrs we will return to Soraypampa and board the bus to the town of Mollepata, to enjoy a delicious local lunch.
At 14:30 hrs we will start the return to the city of Cusco (2:30 hours. Trip), we will leave you near the main square, so you can take a walk or have dinner in the center of the city.

DAY 03: SACRED VALLEY RAP
The tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas starts picking you up at your hotel between 07:30 hrs and 08:00 hrs. Then we will start our journey to the Sacred Valley, we will stop in Chinchero where we will visit a handicraft textile center. We will learn about the plants and natural inputs they use to make their ancestral dyeing and weaving techniques.
We will take our transportation again and travel to Maras for about 40 min. We will visit the salt mines, a unique group of more than 3,000 salt ponds in full operation. Each of the ponds is located a little lower than the previous one on the mountainside, which gives the landscape a unique and almost ethereal appearance.
We will then board the bus and drive through the Sacred Valley to the town of Urubamba where we will have our buffet lunch.
After lunch we will head to Cerámicas Seminario, where we will find exhibition rooms filled with pieces of art. The pieces are handmade by a local staff who learned the style from the Seminario couple, who make the utilitarian and decorative pieces.
Our next point of visit is Ollantaytambo “The Living Inca City”, where we will ascend the stairs to the temple of the sun where we will have an incredible view of the surroundings (45 min).
We will go to the train station in Ollantaytambo to take our train to Aguas Calientes.
We will arrive to Aguas Calientes and we will go to the hotel to rest or visit the city.

DAY 04: MACHU PICCHU TOUR
At the agreed time after breakfast at the hotel, we meet the guide at the bus station to board the bus that will take us to the sanctuary of Machu Picchu travel time is about 30 minutes.
Upon arrival of the bus we will find the entrance door to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu where we present our income, passport or identity card.
Together with the guide we will enter the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu and we will have a guided tour of approximately 2 hours, where we will know the important points of the Inca citadel.
At the end of the tour we will have free time to take pictures in Machupicchu.
Then the guide will say goodbye to us, so that we board the bus back to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we can enjoy a delicious lunch at a restaurant of your choice.
In the afternoon we will have time to visit the handicraft markets or a short walk through the city.
At the appropriate time we will board our Vistadome train arriving in Ollanta. 1.40 hrs. arrival at Ollantaytambo train station where our staff will be waiting for you to transfer you to your hotel in Cusco. 1.50 hrs.

DAY 05: COLORFUL MOUNTAIN TOUR
The tour to the Mountain of Colors begins at 4:30 to 5:00 hrs in the morning with the pick up from your hotel.
After a 2 hour drive we arrive at the restaurant in the town of Cusipata where we will have a delicious breakfast of the area, consisting of juices, bread, coffee, fruits, eggs.
After breakfast we will continue with the trip for 1 hour more until we reach our starting point of the hike.
The walk has a distance of 2Km approx. (1hr), depending on your physical condition you can do it in more time, the guide will accompany you throughout this journey.
On the way you will enjoy beautiful landscapes, accompanied by the snow-capped mountains of our Andean mountain range, without a doubt the route rewards the long journey and effort.
After the walk we will arrive at our destination the mountain of colors where we can enjoy the spectacle of colors that gives us the Pachamama (mother earth) we will have 40 minutes to enjoy the scenery and take a short break.
Then we will start the return which will be easier since everything will be downhill. 12:00 hrs We will take our transport to our restaurant in the town of Cusipata where we will have a nutritious buffet lunch in the area.
Finally we will return to the city of Cusco where we will arrive at 17:00 hrs approx.
