For its construction was used material from the Convent of San Agustin, currently the Marriot Hotel, which was destroyed by cannon fire by order of Marshal Agustin Gamarra.
From this place we will walk down to the Ejército Avenue Bridge that already existed in Inca times being part of the road that linked the capital of the empire with the Contisuyo and in 1934 celebrating the four hundred years of the Spanish founding of the city, the bridge was rebuilt in a neocolonial style.

GALLERY OF HILARIO MENDIVIL AND FAMILY, next to the Plaza San Blas is the exhibition of the renowned artisan Hilario Mendivil and family. This artist was one of the best in terms of traditional imagery; his art, with elongated collars inspired by llamas and alpacas, is unmistakable and recognized worldwide.
It is said that the long necks were used to hide inside rolled canvases that were sent to Europe; although it is only a rumor. His religious works are impregnated with the daily life of the people of Cusco; you can see chicha sellers in religious scenes.
