The trail extends for about 8 kilometers and takes approximately 3 to 4 hours to hike, depending on the speed and endurance of each person. Along the way, visitors can see the impressive Waqra Pucara fortress, which dates back to Inca times and is located on a hill with panoramic views of the region.
What is the history of the archaeological center of Waqrapukara?
It is believed to have been built during the 15th century during the reign of the Inca Pachacutec, and was used as a military fortress to protect the region from enemy attacks.
