A TAILOR-MADE TOUR FOR YOU!

THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE TOUR!

Would you like to live these adventures?

PALCOYO AND STONE VALLEY, AN INCREDIBLE ADVENTURE!

Palccoyo is a lesser known mountain that features a series of colorful peaks, similar to Rainbow Mountain, but with a much easier hike. Palccoyo is at an altitude of approximately 3,800 meters above sea level and is accessible from Cusco. The hike to Palccoyo is much shorter and less challenging than the hike to Rainbow Mountain, making it a good alternative for visitors who wish to experience the colorful beauty of the Andes Mountains without a strenuous hike.

Overall, a tour of Palccoyo and the Bosque de Piedras is an excellent way to experience the natural beauty of the Andes Mountains and explore some of Peru’s lesser-known treasures. Get ready for a Cusco adventure you’ll never forget!

The Palcoyo and Valle de Piedras offers the following activities:

Palcoyo and Stone Forest Tour.

This is a tourist activity that combines a hike through the beautiful scenery of the stone forest with a visit to the impressive rock formations of Palcoyo. Visitors will enjoy panoramic views of the mountains and the valley, while walking along trails surrounded by cacti and other native plants. In Palcoyo, they will be able to see stone formations of various colors and sizes, some of which resemble castle towers.

How difficult is the Palcoyoc mountain trek?

The Palcoyo mountain trek is a trek that is located in the Cusco region, and although it is not as demanding as some of the other treks, it still requires a good physical condition to be able to do it.

The trek has a duration of approximately 3 hours of walking in total, and the maximum altitude reached is approximately 4,900 meters above sea level. It is important to keep in mind that the altitude can affect the ability of some people to make physical efforts, so it is recommended to have a good acclimatization before making the trek.

Is it necessary to acclimatize before visiting Cusco due to the altitude?

It is advisable to acclimatize before visiting Cusco due to the high altitude of the city. Symptoms of altitude sickness can include headache, nausea, dizziness and shortness of breath.

To avoid altitude sickness, it is recommended to take a day or two to acclimatize before engaging in intense physical activities, such as walking or hiking. During this time, it is advisable to rest, stay hydrated, avoid consuming alcohol and heavy food, and drink coca tea, which is a natural remedy to alleviate the symptoms of soroche.

¿The route to Palcoyoc is easier than the Vinicunca mountain route?

The route to Palcoyoc is considered a moderate level hike, being less demanding than the Vinicunca Mountain hike. However, it is recommended to be in good physical shape and to have previously done high mountain treks, since the route presents a constant ascent and descent over irregular terrain and steep slopes.
