DESCRIPTION

With the “Visit Machu Picchu” package, you’ll get to know the city of Cusco from the ground up. First, we’ll take a tour of the archaeological sites in the Sacred Valley, and then continue on to Aguas Calientes. This journey will take us to three significant archaeological sites where we will marvel at each of their constructions, designs, cosmological views, and Andean thought.

We recommend that upon your arrival in the imperial city of Cusco, you rest and allow your body to acclimate. In the afternoon, you can explore the historic center, artisan markets, and Incan streets. You also have the option of watching Cusco dances at the Qosqo Native Art Center.

The Sacred Valley will introduce us to Pisaq and Ollantaytambo, while each day, the desire to reach the Machu Picchu citadel grows stronger. Throughout the journey, we’ll appreciate rivers, ravines, and small valleys, numerous archaeological monuments, and indigenous villages. The local train will transport us to the town of Aguas Calientes, and finally, the long-anticipated dream of visiting Machu Picchu will become a reality.

Day 01: Arrival in Cusco – Free Day

  • Upon the agreed time, pick up from the airport and transfer to the selected hotel.
  • Free day for the passenger, to acclimate to the city.

BREAKFAST, LUNCH, AND DINNER – PASSENGER

Day 02: Sacred Valley of the Incas Tour

  • 07:50 – 08:10 hrs We will pick you up from the hotel, board the bus and head to the Sacred Valley. We’ll stop at the Taray viewpoint for a valley overview.
  • 11:00 hrs We’ll head to Pisaq and visit the archaeological group, including the artisanal market of the same name (approx. 45 min). We’ll then take the bus and cross the Sacred Valley to the town of Urubamba, where we will have a buffet lunch at the Maizal Restaurant.
  • After a delightful lunch, we’ll proceed to the living town of Ollantaytambo, a town that still retains its splendor from when the Incas inhabited it. Visiting the archaeological group of Ollantaytambo will provide insights into its religious, military, and cultural significance.
  • 16:00 hrs We will head to the town of Chinchero, visiting both the Incan ruins of the same name and its colonial church with beautiful paintings from the Cusqueña art school. On our way back to Cusco, we’ll stop at the picturesque town of Chinchero, where we’ll see the remains of the royal estate of Túpac Inca Yupanqui. We’ll admire its well-preserved Inca Wall in the main square and visit the beautiful colonial temple with interesting frescoes built on the foundations of an Incan structure.
  • The Sacred Valley tour is one of the most popular activities when visiting Cusco. Ollantaytambo, an Incan town located in the Sacred Valley, is also home to the train station leading to Machu Picchu. Everyone visiting Cusco and the Sacred Valley aims to tour Machu Picchu.

  • 07:22 hrs We’ll board the 360° tourist train from Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu. Marvel at the Sacred Valley’s landscapes and beautiful colors of its fields and vegetation through the panoramic windows or in the open air, enjoying a delicious box lunch made with organic ingredients from the Sacred Valley and a tasty selection of cold and hot beverages prepared with fruit juices and Andean herbs (1h 40 min).
  • 08:48 hrs Arrival in Aguas Calientes – we head to the bus station to reach the Machu Picchu citadel (35 min).
  • 09:30 hrs Our guide will be waiting for us at the entrance of the Machu Picchu Sanctuary.
  • 09:45 hrs We’ll present our Machu Picchu tickets and begin our guided tour lasting 2h 30 min. By booking this Machu Picchu tour, you’ll explore the most important archaeological site in South America and its various tourist attractions.
  • After the tour, you can continue exploring the beautiful Machu Picchu on your own, then board the buses back to Aguas Calientes.
  • 12:45 hrs Time for lunch at the El Mapi or Apuinti Restaurant, then visit the Machu Picchu Artisan Market or relax at the Aguas Caliente Thermal Baths (AT PASSENGER’S EXPENSE).
